Former South Carolina QB Braden Davis has found a home in the ACC. Davis is heading to Syracuse to continue his college football career, he announced Thursday on his Twitter account.

Davis departs after 2 springs and 1 fall season with Shane Beamer’s program. He will begin his Orange career as a redshirt freshman with 4 seasons of college football eligibility remaining.

A graduate of Middletown (Delaware) High School in December 2021, Davis was the state’s Gatorade Delaware Football Player of the Year. As a recruit, he was a 3-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite who signed with South Carolina over 28 other scholarship offers.

After graduating, Davis enrolled early at South Carolina for spring 2022. In the 2022 season, he worked on the scout team and did not see any game action.

Davis hung around at South Carolina for another spring session with the Gamecocks. On April 26, he decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal during the undergraduate window. As a first-time transfer, Davis will have immediate eligibility this fall.

Earlier Thursday, South Carolina added a commitment from a transfer Syracuse defensive end.
