Former South Carolina RB Ty'Son Williams picks new school for 2019 season
Former South Carolina RB Ty’Son Williams has had an interesting college career. After starting with North Carolina in 2015, he played the 2017 and 2018 seasons with South Carolina.
Now, he’s on the move again. For his final year of eligibility, the running back will head west, playing for an independent team.
As you can see below, Williams announced via Twitter that he’d be suiting up for the BYU Cougars this fall:
I want to thank all the coaches and programs who reached out to give me an opportunity to continue my education for my last year. With that being said I will continue my last year of eligibility at Brigham Young University. #LLDon @BYUfootball pic.twitter.com/2HfrTQOUf9

Williams has run for 856 yards and five touchdowns in his career, with most of that production coming at South Carolina.
How he fares this fall remains to be seen, but he’s found his home for his final year of college football.
