Burmeister rates as a four-star quarterback prospect according to 247Sports composite rankings. The recruiting service ranks him as the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2017.
While Burmeister’s recruiting profile notes an early offer from Florida, it is unlikely that the Gators are still interested. The Florida offer came on Nov. 7, 2014, when current South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp and offensive coordinator Kurt Roper were both at UF.
Last month, the Gamecocks extended an offer to Burmeister. South Carolina currently has four 2017 commits.
