Hot Rod Fitten, a veteran pass rusher at South Carolina, has reportedly made plans for the 2023 season.

Fitten, listed as an edge player, announced on social media that he is entering the transfer portal. Fitten followed long snapper Matthew Bailey, who said earlier in the day he will transfer. Fitten wrote that he’s a graduate transfer with 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Fitten is likely looking for more playing time after the Atlanta native (Booker T. Washington) appeared in just 1 game this season against Charlotte. For his career, Fitten made 2 starts and played in 11 games. He made 8 tackles.

Fitten committed to USC in 2017 and then signed in 2019 for former coach Will Muschamp. He also had offers from Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Nebraska.

Coming out of high school, Fitten ranked as the 51st best player in the state of Georgia, the No. 35 weakside defensive end in the country and No. 494 overall by 247Sports Composite.
