Will Muschamp and South Carolina fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Five-star defensive lineman Jordan Burch has officially signed with the South Carolina Gamecocks, as the team released the news Thursday night. Burch had been committed to South Carolina since December 18, but he didn’t sign during the Early Signing Period. Instead, he took a visit to LSU and to the Gamecocks.

During Wednesday’s National Signing Day, Burch put all the rumors to bed by sticking with his South Carolina commitment; however, the school never received his National Letter of Intent. Thankfully for South Carolina, that speculation ended Thursday night.

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound lineman is ranked as the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect, the No. 2 overall defensive tackle and the state of South Carolina’s top overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Burch elected to sign with South Carolina over LSU and Clemson.
