Jalewis Solomon, 4-star athlete and former Auburn commit, announces SEC pledge
South Carolina lost a heartbreaking 41-39 game to the Florida Gators on Saturday night, but Gamecock fans did receive some news on Sunday that should have them excited.
Jalewis Solomon, a 4-star athlete announced his commitment to South Carolina. He was previously committed to Auburn, but back off of that pledge last week.

In addition to Auburn, the Gamecocks beat out other SEC schools such as Florida and Kentucky, both schools who were recruiting him hard before the commitment to Auburn.
Solomon is the No. 199 overall player and the No. 10 athlete in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 25 player from the state of Georgia.
With the commitment from Solomon, the Gamecocks are starting to put together a solid 2024 class. The Gamecocks’ class, while 10th in the SEC, is currently the 18th best in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Leading the way is 5-star defensive end Dylan Stewart. He is currently the No. 19 player in the class, and the third best defensive end in the class, per the Composite.
