Javon Kinlaw dealt with a host of injuries this season that hampered the South Carolina defensive lineman and one of the team’s top pass rushers.

Kinlaw had a team-high 4.5 sacks this season, but was limited with hip and groin injuries in several games. He had 38 tackles. His best game was against Vanderbilt, when he had three tackles for a loss, and two sacks.

Kinlaw was not among 20 players honored earlier this season on Senior Night against Chattanooga, which relieved some fans, but speculation remained about Kinlaw possibly leaving for the NFL. He put that to rest on Sunday afternoon.

“Yes I’m coming back to school so stop asking,” he tweeted. “Relax.”

Along with the injuries, Kinlaw wasn’t prominently listed on NFL mock drafts, so he likely took that as an indication a return to school could boost his stock for 2020.
