Will Muschamp’s South Carolina program continues to mine the state of Georgia for talent as the Gamecocks just reached into the Peach State to land another talented prospect.

The latest prospect to pledge his services to the Gamecock program is Jayden Johnson of Cedartown, Ga., who announced his commitment on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Johnson commits to South Carolina over Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Memphis. He is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 36 athlete in the nation for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Sports Composite Rankings.

Following this news, South Carolina now holds commitments from eight prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Johnson rates as the third highest-rated prospect in the class and the fifth prospect slated to play on the defensive side of the ball in Columbia.
