According to a report by 247Sports’ J.C. Shurburtt, former Florida defensive back J.C. Jackson won’t enroll at South Carolina.

Shurburtt reported that in a ruling that is beyond the school’s control, Jackson isn’t eligible to enroll at South Carolina. He’s now likely to end up at Maryland, where D.J. Durkin is now the head coach. Durkin coached at Florida under Will Muschamp.

Jackson currently attends Riverside (Calif.) C.C., and he’s a dynamic athlete.

He was originally arrested for armed robbery and charged with four felonies. Jackson was later found not guilty on all accounts.

Jackson is a native of Immokalee, Florida, and he was one of the nation’s top cornerback prospects in the 2014 recruiting cycle.
