When the Chicago Bears recently signed former New York Giants WR Victor Cruz, they needed to make a roster move to make room for their new wide out.

On Tuesday morning, the team decided that former South Carolina QB Connor Shaw would be the one to be waived to clear a spot for Cruz.

But, the Bears quickly had a change of heart, cancelling the original transaction and instead cutting ties with WR Jhajuan Seales, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

The reason for the rescinding of the original move was that fellow QB Mark Sanchez injured his knee during Tuesday’s OTA session, making Shaw’s presence at the workouts necessary.

To his credit, Shaw had a good sense of humor about the whole situation, tweeting out a hilarious Lee Corso meme to respond to his previous heartfelt tweet about his time in Chicago:

Whether the Bears end up keeping Shaw around when Sanchez returns to action remains to be seen, but for now, the ex-Gamecock is still a Chicago Bear, and it sounds like he’s pretty happy about that.
