Earlier this week, Tennessee WR Tyler Byrd called out South Carolina DB Rashad Fenton, saying he was trying to book a flight to “Fenton Island” but couldn’t find any listings.

On Saturday at Neyland Stadium, Byrd didn’t record a catch and may not have played at all, and you’d better believe the Gamecocks took notice of that fact.

Fenton addressed Byrd’s comments after the game, as did his teammate, Chris Lammons, who took to Twitter in the aftermath of Saturday’s 15-9 victory:

Tennessee’s leading receiver only had 54 yards on three catches and the Vols completed a measly 11 passes over the course of the entire game, so it’s safe to say the South Carolina defenders got the best of that matchup.

Meanwhile, Byrd learned a valuable lesson about not providing bulletin-board material to his opponents and will likely stay off Twitter ahead of game days moving forward.
