After star South Carolina WR/KR Deebo Samuel broke his leg earlier this season, it seemed his year was over.

However, coach Will Muschamp refused to say he was done for the year, and now it appears as if he may indeed be nearing a return to the field.

During Saturday’s win over Vanderbilt, Samuel was spotted on the sideline without a cast (or even a brace) on his injured leg:

If the Gamecocks can get Samuel back, even for just a game or two before a bowl game, it would be a big boost to the offense.

QB Jake Bentley had developed some clear chemistry with the talented receiver before the injury, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can pick up where they left off.

In three games, Samuel had 15 catches for 250 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran twice for 30 yards and a touchdown and added two touchdowns on kickoff returns.
