Dylan Thompson shared some special news on Thursday as the former South Carolina quarterback welcomed a daughter into the world.

The former NFL quarterback, who now works as a team character coach for the Detroit Lions, tweeted that his daughter’s name is Mikaiah “Kaia” Rose Thompson.

Thompson’s role with Detroit is to help athletes with their transition into the NFL, as well as providing off the field support during and after their careers. Thompson served as the Director of Player Development for Charleston Southern’s men’s basketball team in 2017.

After his college career, Thompson played in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.

Thompson, who was a team captain his senior year, led the SEC in passing yards in 2014, setting a single-season school record in the process with 3,564 passing yards during the season.
