South Carolina QB Luke Doty is doing as much as he can while recovering from a foot injury suffered last week.
Doty spoke with reporters while wearing a cast and explained his frame of mind.
“It’s not an ideal situation but it’s football. It’s allowed me to take a step back and and focus on the mental side of it,” Doty said, per Mike Uva. “I’ve learned that you have to control what you can control and that’s what I’m focused on doing.”
Doty added that he’s continued to throw the ball every day, and is focused on doing whatever he needs to, to get back out on the field and be ready to compete.
In the mean time, quarterbacks competing to start while Doty is out are Zeb Noland, a graduate assistant who has eligibility remaining, Colten Gauthier, Jason Brown and Connor Jordan.
