Luke Doty is not quite 100 percent recovered from his fall camp foot injury, but it’s getting there.
“I think the biggest thing for me is knowing when to extend plays with my legs,” Doty told reporters on Tuesday, and added that he’s getting to the point where he feels confident in his foot again.
Doty had his best game of the season last week when he was 20-for-34 passing for 255 yards and a touchdown. He missed the first 2 games of the season, but Doty is getting closer to maximizing his running and scrambling ability.
Coach Shane Beamer added that Doty’s athleticism is valuable.
“If they’ve got everything covered, he’s a weapon with his legs. He’s an athlete,” Beamer said.
