Marcus Satterfield knew Spencer Rattler was in for a big game long before game day when the South Carolina quarterback lit up Tennessee to the tune of 438 yards and 6 touchdown passes in a 63-38 win on Saturday.
“He was in the zone. He played his ass off,” Satterfield told reporters on Wednesday, per Ben Portnoy. “You could tell 2-3 days before the game that he was going to be ready to roll.”
Satterfield also confirmed that he went with a version of playing and calling plays likes they had nothing to lose, and just let it all hang out and if it fails, it fails.
As for the offensive performance overall, Satterfield said, “It never hit my brain until I got into the locker room and I was like, ‘No way?'”
About the field storm after the game, Satterfield said, “People probably thought I was losing my mind, because I was looking for my daughter.”
Then added that Emily Beamer found her and they all reconvened in the locker room.
“I’ve never been part of anything like that,” he said.
