South Carolina running back MarShawn Lloyd came to the defense of his assistant coach after the victory vs. Texas A&M on Saturday.

Lloyd took to Twitter after the 30-24 win and shouted out offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield. Lloyd defected any criticism Satterfield is receiving and wants the players to instead be held accountable.

“Please stop disrespecting Coach Sat! He’s literally the most dedicated coach I’ve ever had. This man does not take his job lightly,” Lloyd said. “I wish everyone could see all he put into this. Every time something goes wrong everyone goes straight to it being his fault when really it be us!”

Satterfield is in his second season as South Carolina’s offensive coordinator with most recent previous stints with the Carolina Panthers (Assistant Offensive Line) and Baylor (Tight Ends).

Lloyd sealed the victory with a 4-yard rushing touchdown with 3:08 left in the game. Lloyd rushed for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries.

This is South Carolina’s first 4-game winning streak since 2013. Texas A&M won the previous 8 meetings in the series dating back to when it joined the SEC in 2014.

Next up for South Carolina is a home contest against Missouri on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on SEC Network.
