Matt Rhule has been named the new head coach at Nebraska, and he’s wasting no time assembling his first coaching staff.

It was reported on Monday morning that Rhule had interest in South Carolina OC Marcus Satterfield and that does indeed seem to be the case.

Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported on Monday morning that Rhule was expected to hire Satterfield as the Cornhuskers’ new offensive coordinator:

Satterfield had an up-and-down year at South Carolina. Many fans were frustrated with his play-calling throughout the season, though the Gamecocks’ offense undeniably ended the year on a strong note with upset wins over Tennessee and Clemson, combining for 94 total points in those 2 games.

Satterfield and Rhule have worked together a lot during their careers. Satterfield was at Temple, Baylor and in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers under Rhule.

We’ll see if the combination of Satterfield and Rhule can help Nebraska turn around its performance on the field.
