One of Steve Spurrier’s best players on his final South Carolina team has landed in Jacksonville and is set to play for Urban Meyer.

After spending last season with the Carolina Panthers, the Jaguars are adding former Gamecock standout and All-Pro NFL kick returner Pharoh Cooper to the team’s roster according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

“Former All-Pro and Pro Bowl WR/returner Pharoh Cooper is signing with the Jaguars, source said. The former Rams star, who most recently played for the Panthers, lands in Jax,” Rapoport reported on Thursday morning.

Cooper started all 16 games for the Panthers in 2020, registering 117 punt return yards and 430 kick return yards. During his five seasons in the NFL, Cooper has 2,523 total kick return yards with one touchdown and 729 punt return yards.

He’s also caught 55 passes for 506 yards and a touchdown.

During his three seasons in Columbia, Cooper caught 138 passes for 2,163 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also had 513 rushing yards and another four touchdowns on the ground.
