Nick Emmanwori and the South Carolina Gamecocks went to Norman and just dominated the Oklahoma Sooners, winning by a score of 35-9.

It was over before it started, as the Gamecocks were up 21-0 in the first 5:20 of the game. The defense was dominant all game, but it set the tone with 2 touchdowns during the big run to start the game.

Emmanwori had 2 interceptions in the game while returning 1 of them for a 66-yard touchdown. He did a lot more than just the interceptions and contributed 11 tackles and 1 TFL. Because of that, he was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

He shared the award with KU defensive back Cobee Bryant, who finished with 3 tackles and 3 interceptions in a win against Houston.

The junior defensive back has done a great job for South Carolina all year, as he leads the team with 49 tackles and 4 interceptions. Only Nohl Williams of California has more interceptions with 6.

The Gamecocks have a bye this week and will enjoy the week off before a very difficult 3 game stretch against ranked teams in Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Missouri. If Emmanwori is able to keep playing like he has, he could be making a run at an All-American type of season.
