Falling to their in-state rival, the No. 3 Clemson Tigers, 38-3, on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, the South Carolina Gamecocks wrapped up a disappointing 4-8 campaign.

Peaking at 9-4 in 2017, head coach Will Muschamp’s teams have now posted declining records in each of the last two seasons and will miss a bowl game for the first time in his four-year tenure. About as even of a record as one could have, the 48-year-old Georgia native is now 26-25 (15-17 SEC) during his time as Steve Spurrier’s successor.

Despite these struggles, it appears the program picked up a piece of good news on Sunday. Redshirt junior offensive lineman Sadarius Hutcherson seemed to imply his return for the 2020 season on Twitter.

Here’s his simple message:

A native of Huntingdon, Tennessee, Hutcherson has started all 25 games for the Gamecocks over the last two seasons. Playing guard in 2018, he started the first 11 games of the 2019 season at left tackle before sliding inside to left guard for the Clemson game.

With Hutcherson apparently now back in the fold and freshman Jakai Moore and sophomore Dylan Wonnum also set to return, Muschamp and offensive line coach Eric Wolford have a solid foundation with experience to build upon.
