Photo: South Carolina lineman shows off new matte black helmets
The University of South Carolina will have new matte black helmets in 2016.
Photos emerged this past April of new black helmets with the garnet stripe, and offensive lineman Mason Zandi showed off the new lids on Snapchat Thursday.
Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce
Aged cayenne peppers bring the heat, while molasses and honey inject the sweet into our Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce. For a dash of daring deliciousness, give it a shot.

While South Carolina may have many questions on the field, no question that these new lids will look incredible.
Rose and the helmet they wore
Sorry wrong button.
Those and the helmets they wore against Florida last year has to be some of the most bad@ss helmets in the SEC.
Spurrier wanted only the white helmets. Glad Muschamp is changing it up and incorporating black.
I know some other schools do black, but since Garnet and Black are our colors, glad we are bringing black back.
Agree
I REALLY like the white helmets. They’re a tradition, they look good, and we should wear them regularly. That being said, I would not at all mind breaking out the black helmets for special occasions (like a blackout!)
I’d like to see a home set and an away set. All white with the white helmets away and all black with matte black helms at home/all garnet and garnet helms. Maybe throw in the tail feathers white helms every once in a while.
