As expected, Wofford’s triple option rushing attack drained the clock throughout its visit to Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Terriers began both halves with long drives that took more than seven and six minutes, respectively. To open the second half, Wofford went 10 plays in 75 yards to pull within four points. For perspective, Wofford opened the game with five first downs. Last week, Florida had 12 for the entire game against South Carolina.

But South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley was more than capable of matching Wofford. At one point, Bentley had 12 straight completions that was snapped late in the third quarter.

And thanks to a fourth-quarter fumble recovery by the Gamecock defense which iced the game, South Carolina wrapped up a 31-10 victory.

The Gamecocks will take on Clemson next week in Columbia for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff looking to snap a three-game losing streak in the series.

Late in the first half, he connected with Bryan Edwards for a 23-yard touchdown pass, Bentley’s 15th on the season. He completed passes to six different receivers in the first half alone. He then ran in his team-high fifth and sixth touchdowns of the season. The second score capped a seven play drive that ate up 70 yards.

The Gamecocks bounced back after they trailed 3-0 after one quarter and Wofford had two early sacks.

Defensively, beyond the late fumble, one early highlight was linebacker Skai Moore making an interception that tied him with Bo Davies for 14 and the all-time school record.
