During a loss to Kentucky last week, South Carolina QB Jake Bentley suffered a knee sprain, and has been held out of practice for most of the week.

Now, as the Gamecocks prepare for a home game against Mizzou on Saturday, it appears Bentley isn’t healthy enough to play.

Per The State, senior QB Michael Scarnecchia is expected to get the starting nod on Saturday afternoon against the Tigers:

Senior Michael Scarnecchia is expected to start at quarterback for South Carolina when the Gamecocks take on Missouri on Saturday, a source with knowledge of the situation told The State.

Though Bentley has struggled at times this year, this is still a big hit to the Gamecocks’ offense.

However, it appears Bentley needs more time to rest his injured knee, so Scarnecchia will get the start on Saturday.
