When assistant strength coach Cedric Williams left South Carolina to join ex-Gamecocks assistant Shawn Elliott’s Georgia State staff, it left a vacancy in Columbia.
That spot, according to 247Sports, has been filled by former Tennessee defensive player Corey Miller, who will join coach Will Muschamp’s crew as an assistant member of the team’s strength and conditioning staff.
Miller was a former high school teammate of South Carolina legend Marcus Lattimore before playing at Tennessee from 2010 to 2013, recording 82 tackles and 9.5 career sacks.
The hiring is not official, but 247Sports reports that Miller has already updated his Twitter profile to reflect his new hometown of Columbia, South Carolina.
