One of South Carolina’s most treasured assistant coaches could ultimately be leaving for another gig.

Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott is reportedly gaining traction for the vacant Georgia State position:

Elliott had been one of the holdovers from Steve Spurrier’s staff. When Spurrier unexpectedly left the program last season, Elliott took over as the interim head coach. He went 1-5 during this time — but was a beacon of energy when trying to keep this program together.

A native of South Carolina, Elliott consistently demonstrated ardent pride for the state. His fiery personality has also helped to make him a valuable recruiter within Will Muschamp’s current staff.
