Report: South Carolina RB-turned-LB Stephen Davis Jr. leaves team for second time
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Stephen Davis Jr., the son of former Auburn great Stephen Davis, left the South Carolina program back in August 2017. However, he returned to the roster this spring, switching from running back to linebacker.
Davis then went through spring practices, but it appears he has once again decided to quit the team.
According to a report from The State, Davis is not on the team’s updated roster, and it has been confirmed that he is no longer a Gamecock:
The former Dutch Fork High School standout and son of former Auburn star Stephen Davis is not on the updated roster released by the team Tuesday. A school spokesperson confirmed he is no longer on the team. It marks the second, and almost certainly final, time Davis has left the Gamecocks.
Davis, a former 4-star recruit, started his career at Auburn before transferring to South Carolina.
Now, though, it appears his up-and-down college career has come to an end, as he’s likely to never wear a Gamecocks uniform again.
