The South Carolina Gamecocks enter the 2020 season with a lot of question marks. Coach Will Muschamp is on the hot seat and the Gamecocks need to try to improve after a 4-win campaign in 2019.

So, what are some of the biggest areas of concerns facing the Gamecocks as we prepare for Week 1 on Sept. 26?

On a recent appearance on the SEC Network, analyst Matt Stinchcomb said the Gamecocks need their running game to step up in a big way this fall:

“I don’t want to say there’s nowhere to go but up, but there’s a lot of room to go up,” he said. “When you finish 10th in the conference a season ago, a 4-win campaign, take some of the pressure off the quarterback position. … You lose MarShawn Lloyd coming in, and that was a big blow, albeit a freshman. Thought to be a spark plug — a guy who could really ignite the offense. Now it seems as if Kevin Harris has been the most consistent performer, at least according to the new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. They have to run the football better. They need to have that element to balance the offense and take some of the pressure off of Ryan Hilinski or Collin Hill in the passing game.”

Will Harris and the Gamecocks be able to move the ball well on the ground? We’ll find out starting next Saturday against Tennessee.
