Shane Beamer addresses woeful offensive line after Texas A&M loss, says he'll 'evaluate everything'
Shane Beamer told reporters after the loss to Texas A&M that he understood what some of the issues were entering the bye week.
One of the major deficiencies was the offensive line, which allowed 3 sacks and several more pressures and hits on the quarterback. The Gamecocks also ended with 71 yards rushing, but for most of the game, they were in negative yardage.
The Gamecocks fell to 4-4 and play Florida on Nov. 6.
Here’s a sampling of what he told the media:
Beamer on Zeb Noland getting dinged up in the first half: “I think he had a bloody everything.”
Said he had a bloody nose and lip in the first half and took some shots to his upper body.

Beamer said the snaps really hadn’t been an issue, but it flared up today.
“That’s a fundamental thing that shouldn’t be happening in the eighth game.”

Beamer: Texas A&M was the most impressive group of defense they’ve seen since Georgia; his team has got to perform better, they’ve got to be able to block, they are an SEC team as well, tried different things to try and help the QBs in pass protection. #Gamecocks

Beamer asked about the offensive line.
“We’ve certainly got some issues we’ve got to figure out.”
“We’ve got to be able to block. We’re SEC football players too… We’ve got to be able to block when they bring four as well.”

Beamer: Feels like they are better than a 4-4 team, have to continue to work to get better, need the home field advantage to help them with their three remaining home games. #Gamecocks

Beamer: When you play like they did tonight, you have to evaluate everything. Didn’t play great anywhere, and that includes coaching. #Gamecocks

Beamer: Thought they had a great plan going in, it didn’t go quite like they thought. #Gamecocks

Beamer: Jason Brown did some good things, even against some of their “dudes”, the moment wasn’t too big for him. #Gamecocks
