Shane Beamer was under more pressure to beat Georgia State than he ever realized. After the Gamecocks’ 35-14 opening win over the Panthers, Beamer found a message from his children on his office window.

It is not what you think. It was an ultimatum.

For those having trouble reading: “Win or you will be kicked in the you know what. If you lose to Georgia State you will be in the hospital. Love you.”

The Beamer children are destined to be athletic directors one day. Those types of demands are hard to ignore. Thankfully for Beamer, the Gamecocks righted the ship after a rough start that saw the Panthers pull ahead, 14-12. South Carolina finished the game on a 21-0 run to improve to 1-0 on the season.

South Carolina travels to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas next week.
