Shane Beamer is feeling good about his South Carolina program coming off of a bowl win in Year 1.

Beamer’s Gamecocks defeated North Carolina 38-21 in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Thursday. During the postgame presentation, Beamer said he doesn’t see a “ceiling” for South Carolina football, noting Gamecock athletics has won national championships in on other sports.

“There’s no ceiling here (to the program),” Beamer said. “We can accomplish anything here at this university. We’ve got the greatest fans in the country, unbelievable academics, fantastic resources.

“We’ve won other national championships in other sports at Carolina, and there’s no reason we can’t do it in football as well.”

South Carolina’s Year 1 turnaround under Beamer from a 2-win team in 2020, Will Muschamp’s final season, to 7 wins in 2021 was very impressive. Gamecock fans have lots to be excited about for 2022 and beyond.
