Shane Beamer praises his team’s effort, looks for improved execution
After starting the season 2-0, South Carolina has dropped its last 2 games, including a hard-fought 16-10 defeat at home against Kentucky last Saturday.
The Gamecocks will look to get back into the win column this Saturday against a Troy team that many believe is better than it has shown in starting 2-2.
On Wednesday, South Carolina coach Shane Beamer was asked to assess his team’s play this season. He said he couldn’t be more pleased with ow hard his guys has have played; he just wants to see improved execution.
“Effort hasn’t been an issue with us,” said Beamer on the weekly SEC coaches teleconference. “Our guys have been playing hard and I’m proud of that. We just have to play more efficiently and execute. … They’re playing with a lot of passion and competing every game. … We just have to operate a little better.”
The Gamecocks’ game with the Trojans is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday and will be televised by the SEC network.
