Shane Beamer proudly promotes 4-game winning streak, says team didn't quit after Georgia loss
Shane Beamer was upset when South Carolina lost to Georgia when he was asked if he sense any quit on the team. He doubled down on those remarks on Saturday after a 30-24 win over Texas A&M extended the winning streak to 4 games.
The Gamecocks improved to 5-2, and the winning streak includes wins over A&M, Kentucky, South Carolina State and Charlotte. Missouri visits next week.
Here’s some of what he told the media:
Beamer: No quit in his team, they have a bunch of “frickin” fighters. Still have to coach and play better, disappointing not to convert that 4th and 1 late and let them go down and kick the field goal. #Gamecocks

Shane Beamer brings up the “sense any quit in this team?” question from after the Georgia loss, the one that got him upset. Points out USC has won four in a row since then. He’s fired up.

Beamer: “It was a little over a month ago after the Georgia game I got asked if that team had any quit.
Did that look like a team that quit?”

Beamer said he told Marcus Satterfield to “get the ball to our best players” at some point in the second half.
Gamecocks did that and found a way to win.

“It was ugly as all get out for us a lot of the time … but just really proud of our players and our fight.” – Shane Beamer

Beamer: Told his players they were going to win in the fourth quarter, that adversity would make them stronger, thought they’d make a special teams play that would be a difference maker. #Gamecocks

Beamer: Knew going in it was going to be a 4th quarter, SEC game. A&M is a good time, they are beat up and playing a lot of freshmen, situational football and field position was going to be key, Kroeger got a game ball for his punting. #Gamecocks
