Shane Beamer recaps lopsided loss to Georgia: 'They've got like 100 5-star football players on their defense'
Shane Beamer watched his Gamecocks fall at Georgia 40-13 in a game they fell behind 26-6 at halftime.
South Carolina lost LB Sherrod Greene and QB Zeb Noland to injuries in the game.
Luke Doty relieved Noland, and was 13-for-26 passing for 153 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Georgia, meanwhile, racked up 491 yards in the win and overcame 3 turnovers to 2 for South Carolina.
Next week, South Carolina returns to action against Kentucky at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Here is some of what Beamer told the media after the game:
Shane Beamer: We played physical, and we competed. There’s a lot we can take from that. Having said that, you can’t help a great football team like that and we certainly helped them a lot.

Beamer: Thought Doty did great; Brad Johnson was sick all day and wasn’t 100 percent; Doty didn’t get into full team drills until Thursday, started Noland because he’d played well last two weeks, no reservations putting Doty in. #Gamecocks

Beamer: Georgia has a hell of a football team, they played great, knew it would be a physical, violent game, proud of his guys, they played with a lot of physicality, thought his guys competed. Can’t help a great football team, and they did that tonight. #Gamecocks
