Shane Beamer revealed a slightly bizarre recruiting tactic he used to prove a point to Oluwatosin Babalade, South Carolina’s 4-star offensive tackle commit.

Beamer said Wednesday that he climbed a tree outside his house to prove that point to Babalade. It’s worth noting that the talented offensive lineman committed to South Carolina Tuesday night after decommitting from Maryland on Dec. 13.

There are even screenshots of Beamer’s claim that have surfaced.

South Carolina has a top 20 national class in the 2023 cycle so far, adding several strong prospects such as Babalade, Markee Anderson and Desmond Umeozulu. After all, recruiting tactics like that are hard to beat.

Things are definitely trending upwards for the Gamecocks. South Carolina finished the season with a pair of strong wins over Tennessee and Clemson heading into their bowl game against Notre Dame.

Maintaining that momentum starts, in part, with their strong class in 2023.
