The National Championship game is coming up, with Georgia and Alabama set to face off in a rematch of the SEC Championship from earlier this season.

While the matchup won’t take place until Monday, people are already talking about the game. South Carolina’s Shane Beamer gave his thoughts about the game, and who he is going for, according to Hale McGranahan of 247Sports.

“First of all, I’m team SEC,” Beamer said during a recent Charlotte radio appearance. “I think it’s fantastic for our conference that two of the top teams in our league are playing for the National Championship. It’s a great statement about what this league’s about. I had a lot of confidence in Georgia, going into the SEC Championship Game, and do on this one as well.”

This game should be a lot of fun to watch, as both teams put up well over 60 points on offense combined in the last meeting with Alabama winning the previous matchup 41-24. Shane Beamer is just as excited to watch as anyone.

“It’s going to be a fantastic game,” he said. “I know from working for Kirby, they’ll take what didn’t go well in the first game and adjust and have a great plan for Monday night. I’m certainly excited, as a fan of college football and as a member of the SEC.”

No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia meet for the second time this season on Monday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
