South Carolina has been off since a 44-14 loss to Texas A&M on Oct. 23, but the Gamecocks return to the field on Saturday as they face a Florida team that’s coming off a blowout loss to Georgia.

With the Gamecocks at 4-4, a bowl game isn’t out of the picture. But both sides of the ball certainly need to show massive improvement with 4 games remaining in the regular season.

And the question is whether quarterback Zeb Noland and defensive back Jaylin Dickerson will be ready to go against the Gators with Noland having undergone a minor knee procedure and Dickerson nursing an ankle injury. Shane Beamer provided an update on both players during his weekly media availability on Sunday.

“I think it’s hard to not do anything during practice, during the week, then just show up on Saturday and play when you haven’t gotten reps, so ideally, Zeb would be able to do something,” Beamer said, according to 247Sports.

He added that both Noland and Jason Brown would work with the 1st-team unit during the week.

“I’m not going to sit here and say that either one of them is the starter as we sit here,” he said. “We want to get into the week, see how these guys practice, got confidence in both of them.”
