South Carolina football added a commitment from former Ball State tight end Brady Hunt Sunday morning.

Hunt is a very interesting addition for Shane Beamer and Co. He did not play last season after suffering a foot injury, but had an impressive freshman campaign, totaling 46 receptions for 496 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s a capable red zone target, standing at 6-6, 245 pounds.

Here’s his announcement on X, formerly Twitter:

Because of Hunt’s medical redshirt this past season he will have 3 years to play 3 seasons of remaining eligibility at South Carolina.

Hunt is a former Freshman All-American and entered the 2023 season as a preseason first team All-MAC selection by Pro Football Focus and College Football Network.

South Carolina has added 8 players out of the portal since it opened on December 4. Additions alongside Hunt include former Arkansas RB Rocket Sanders, former Vanderbilt WR Jayden McGowan and former Georgia Tech Edge Kyle Kennard.
