South Carolina adds hard throwing Notre Dame transfer
South Carolina is adding to its bullpen for next season.
Shortly after the departure of head coach Link Jarrett to Florida State, RHP Roman Kimball entered the transfer portal. He was one of 5 Fighting Irish throwers to hop ship, and Tuesday decided he was heading south for his second season.
“Notre Dame will always hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life,” Kimball wrote, via On3 Sports. “This decision was very hard for my family and I, and it is very hard to walk away from Notre Dame.”
Kimball was solid for the Fighting Irish last season, a team that reached the College World Series after knocking off the No. 1 team in the country.
He was a solid piece for Jarrett and Co, striking out 32 batters in 25 innings with a 5.76 ERA.
