South Carolina baseball is looking the part to start the 2023 college baseball season. The Gamecocks are 3-0 and staring down 4-0, leading Winthrop 17-2 in the bottom of the 6th.

For those counting, that’s 66 runs for the Gamecocks in their first 4 games with still more baseball to play Tuesday. They blew past UMass Lowell last week, winning all 3 games by more than 10 runs.

According to Alan Cole of GamecockRivals, the below Grand Slam gave South Carolina it’s first 4-game stretch of scoring more than 10 runs since 2006.

And what a way to do it. Cole Messina left no doubt on this rocket to left field:

The Gamecocks are the No. 23 team in the nation and poised to do some damage in the SEC this season. The bats have certainly come alive to start the year.
