South Carolina basketball lands commitment from 4-star PG out of North Carolina
South Carolina has the top 2025 recruiting class in college basketball with its newest pledge.
Eli Ellis out of Moravian Prep in North Carolina announced his commitment to Lamont Paris’ program on Wednesday night. Ellis chose the Gamecocks over Mississippi State, College of Charleston, VCU, Virginia Tech and others.

Ellis is listed as measuring 6-feet tall and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Ellis is rated 4-stars, the No. 4 recruit in the state of North Carolina, No. 12 point guard and No. 89 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
It’s early in the 2025 cycle, but South Carolina’s class now ranks No. 1 nationally on the Composite. The Gamecocks also have a pledge from Hayden Assemian, a power forward out of Powdersville rated 3-stars and the Composite’s No. 182 overall prospect.
