The South Carolina Gamecocks landed a huge commitment on Saturday morning, beating out schools like Georgia, Alabama and Auburn in the process.

Josh Vann, a 2018 4-star receiver from Georgia, has pledged his commitment to the Gamecocks, according to The State.

Vann told The State that he anticipates making an impact early in his South Carolina career, especially if star WR Deebo Samuel leaves for the NFL after this season. He said he’s excited to get to work with star QB Jake Bentley, too:

“By me coming in as a freshman I’ll probably still have that young mentality and he’ll still have that young mentality,” Vann said. “I feel like we’ll be able to bond a little better and have our chemistry down pat quicker. I see myself as a perfect fit, playing all over the field, making big plays for myself and for the team.”

According to the 247Sports composite, Vann is the No. 36 wide receiver in the 2018 class and the No. 20 overall recruit from the state of Georgia.
