There was plenty of emotion running through Saturday night’s contest between Tennessee and South Carolina. It didn’t take long for Chris Lammons to show it.

Lammons was ejected in the first quarter of the game after swinging at Jauan Jennings, a wide receiver for the Volunteers. Later in the evening, Lammons issued an apology to the fans, his teammates and the coaches for his actions early in the game via Twitter:

Lammons had three interceptions and 29 tackles on the season heading into the showdown with Tennessee. Fortunately for the Gamecocks, his ejection didn’t hinder the defense too much, as South Carolina shut down the Vols most of the night.

South Carolina improved to 4-4 with a 24-21 win.
