South Carolina CB Jaycee Horn snags first-career INT, shifts momentum in Gamecocks’ favor

South Carolina CB Jaycee Horn is a big-time defender. He and Israel Mukuamu form one of the best corner tandems in the SEC.
However, the interceptions just haven’t been there for Horn. In 2-plus seasons as a key contributor to South Carolina’s defense, Horn had exactly 0 picks entering Saturday’s game vs. Auburn.
That changed in the second quarter. After Auburn QB Bo Nix escaped pressure, he made an ill-advised throw into traffic, and Horn was there to step in front of the receiver for the interception:

South Carolina was rewarded with good field position following the turnover, and quickly put the ball in the end zone to cut Auburn’s lead to 9-7.
Making things even more interesting, Mukuamu and Horn had just discussed Horn’s lack of interceptions on Saturday morning’s episode of “Out of Pocket” on the SEC Network:

Now that Horn has his first pick under his belt, will others soon follow?
