The Mississippi State Bulldogs entered Sunday’s SEC women’s basketball title game undefeated, having won the SEC’s regular-season title easily.

However, the South Carolina Gamecocks came into the championship with a three-year streak on the line, and weren’t ready to give it up, dominating their way to a 62-51 victory.

Star A’ja Wilson, who returned from injury in the quarterfinals, had another huge game off the bench, leading the Gamecocks to a fourth title victory with 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Tyasha Harris (14 points), Mikiah Herbert-Harrigan (13) and Bianca Jackson (11) also scored in double figures in the win.

Victoria Vivians of Mississippi State led all scorers with 17 points and also grabbed six boards in the loss.

Both teams will enter the NCAA Tournament as high seeds, with Mississippi State’s 32-1 record likely landing them a No. 1 seed.

South Carolina is 26-6 overall, but the Gamecocks are currently the No. 8 team in the country, so they could land a No. 2 seed.
