Not many people figured South Carolina would spring the upset, but before the game coach Will Muschamp, either through a motivational tactic, or sheer belief, said the Gamecocks would prevail.

“At the end of the day, they’re going to give us their best shot, and we’re going to win the game,” Muschamp said leading up to the game.

That audio and other scenes of the team off the field and around the buses leading up to Sanford Stadium were chronicled in a video the team put out this week. There were also highlight plays from the game, which was historic in its own right as the Gamecocks snapped an 11-game losing streak against ranked opponents, and shook up the college football world.

Muschamp offered a series of motivational lines to his players, including, “When you prepare the right way, good things will happen, not all the time, but most of the time.”

With a dominating defensive performance led by 3 sacks, 3 interceptions and 4 turnovers overall, the Gamecocks prevailed in double overtime.

The Gamecocks are looking to do it again this week against Florida in Columbia, while Georgia is looking to bounce back at home during a night game against Kentucky.
