Shane Beamer’s South Carolina staff just landed its highest-rated class of 2022 commitment yet. The Gamecocks landed a big pledge Tuesday from cornerback Keenan Nelson Jr. out of Philadelphia.

Listed at 6-1, 200 pounds, Nelson is rated 4-stars, the No. 3 Pennsylvania recruit, No. 16 cornerback and No. 138 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite.

Nelson’s 247Sports recruiting profile shows 21 scholarship offers. In his commitment video, Nelson showed some workout footage before getting down to a final five of South Carolina, Penn State, Temple, Louisville and West Virginia, committing to the Gamecocks.

Nelson is set to play in the postseason All-American Bowl. He is commitment No. 16 in South Carolina’s 2022 class. Nelson’s junior highlights can be viewed below, via Hudl:
