South Carolina has received a commitment from one of the top wide receivers remaining in the transfer portal.

Former Miami (OH) WR Gage Larvadain took to social media to announce his commitment to the Gamecocks:

Larvadain came down with 42 catches for 679 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Redhawks in 2023. The receiver spent 1 season with the Redhawks after spending 2 seasons with the FCS-level SE Louisiana Lions. At the FCS level, Larvadain caught 96 passes for 1,252 yards and 7 TDs. The receiver will have 1 year of eligibility with the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks have done a nice job of revamping the receiver room thus far this offseason. The team has brought in Ahmari Huggins-Bruce and Jared Brown, alongside Larvadain, to add targets to the offense. The team also brought in talented RB Raheim Sanders from Arkansas in the portal.

On the other hand, the Gamecocks have seen a fair amount of talent depart. Antwane Wells, Kylic Horton, Landon Samson, O’Mega Blake, and Zavier Short have all joined the portal at the receiver position. The team has also lost notable players such as Grayson Howard, Xzavier McLeod. and Donovan Westmoreland.
