South Carolina lands commitment from Atlanta defender, its first for 2021
South Carolina is back on the board for the class of 2021.
Atlanta native Demarko Williams pulled the trigger for the Gamecocks late Tuesday night. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect committed to the Gamecocks over offers from Oregon and Minnesota, among others.
Currently, Williams is unranked by 247Sports; however, he garners a 3-star ranking by Rivals.com. He shared his commitment via Twitter.

Williams visited Columbia for Junior Day last weekend, and it didn’t take him long to announce his verbal commitment.
Four-star athlete Lovasea Carroll originally became South Carolina’s first commitment for 2021; however, he decommitted last September. Williams is one of several defensive backs that hold offers from Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks.
Is this really news? No offense to SC fans.
Israel Mukuamu was a three star also.
BURN!
No offense taken, USMCDawg!
It’s all so silly these days. Big shot early commitments under the spotlight of cameras and TV then signing day and then decommitments! Nothing is real until game day or so it seems. I think I get more jaded with every passing year.
That’s about par for the course. We’re a solid 3* U. Building a championship team with Mountain West Conference transfers and unranked player at a time. Love it! You go Muschump!
Maybe I’m forever optimistic, but give Muschamp more credit on the recruiting trail (not game management). We have two 5 stars on the D line right now and three 4 star QBs on the roster, when is the last time that happened? Add in the highest rated RB since Lattimore. Now he still needs to develop the kids, but you cant knock his recruiting, especially pulling these kids in off a 4-8 season.
Nah
Next year’s class consists of one recruit after the decommitment. Meanwhile UF has 8, UGA has 3 including a 5*, and yewtee has 4. Looks like he’s falling behind in recruiting too.
