South Carolina linebacker Mo Kaba is going to miss the remainder of the 2023 season after suffering an early left knee injury against North Carolina Saturday.

South Carolina confirmed the news Tuesday in a press release.

This is the 2nd straight season where Kaba will miss significant time. He was ruled out all of last year following Week 2 against Arkansas where he suffered an injury to his right knee.

Kaba, who is a redshirt junior for the Gamecocks, was a member of the 2020 SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman team. He’s made 5 starts across the past 4 years, totaling 53 tackles in that time.

This is a rough injury update for both Kaba (you really have to hate this for him, especially after last year) and South Carolina, which also deemed Nick Emmanwori and Antwane Wells Jr. questionable for Saturday’s game against Furman. OL Cason Henry, who also went down against UNC, is likely to be “out for a while” according to head coach Shane Beamer.
